Media Sales & Account Manager

Full Time, Permanent, £14-17k + commission + mobile phone

Are you money motivated, hardworking and a confident communicator? Enjoy building relationships and being client facing? Do you have experience of selling, building relationships or pitching?

To be successful you will need a real drive to succeed, possess brilliant communication skills and have a real desire to work in a target driven environment. A desire to work in sales is essential along with strong written, verbal, analytical and communication skills.

It is essential that you can work cooperatively and flexibly with other members of the team with a full understanding of the role to be played as a team member, can demonstrate the capacity to continually identify and explore business opportunities, and understand the business needs and priorities of the Company as they relate to the role.

The main objective of this role is to maximise revenue generation through the successful development and implementation of well researched and successful advertising sales initiatives to both agencies and clients. Simultaneously adhering to deadlines and timescales set in agreement with editorial production.

The ideal Media Sales & Account Manager will hold the following skills and experiences:

- Previous experience within a Outbound Telesales, Account Management, Customer Service, Call Centre, Media or Publishing role.
- Excellent communication and negotiations skills.
- Charismatic personality – friendly, approachable and self motivated.
- Business minded, target driven with a desire to succeed.
- Career driven.
- Degree educated (not essential but desirable).
- A full UK Driving Licence is advantageous.

We are looking for candidates with a genuine interest in wanting to work in a sales environment. Publishing is a tough role but it can also be very rewarding if you put in the hours necessary.

Media Assistant Internship – 6 months – Unpaid

The Media Assistant is an administrative role within the Capital Media team, assisting:

• Managing Director
• Finance & Business Development Director
• Media Account Manager
• Graphic Designer

The Media Assistant is involved in all facets of the business from basic administrative duties up to and including drafting creative concepts, proposals, writing editorial and much more. This role will suit either an experienced media assistant (minimum 2 years) with a background in a sales or marketing environment, or an undergraduate (in media studies or marketing related degree) looking for a first step into a marketing role.

Skills and attributes:

• Ability to act autonomously, dealing effectively with competing priorities and working in an atmosphere of regular interruptions and to tight deadlines.
• Good verbal and written skills, demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to manage and prioritise own workload in an atmosphere of regular interruptions and to tight deadlines.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to carry work through from research to completion, implementation and final evaluation
• Excellent grasp of the English language in written and verbal form

Do you love writing? Would you like the chance to get some of your work published? If so, Life&Style Magazine are looking for excellent writers with a passion for putting pen to paper so we can publish some of your work. This is a voluntary position, however we will make a contribution of £10 for each article submitted to (and accepted by) us.

The editorial you submit could be on fashion, interiors, business, local people, politics or anything else you think will be interesting to the people of Nottinghamshire. You’ll get a byline and copies of the magazine to keep and use for future work opportunities.

This ongoing relationship would suit an undergraduate, graduate or media buff wanting to break in to journalism as a career. An excellent grasp of the English language in both written and verbal form is a must along with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
